Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
It is essential to consider local needs and resources when implementing SEL.
Equity in SEL means that every person, regardless of their background, experiences, or identity has an equal opportunity to benefit from SEL initiatives. Curricula incorporates diverse perspectives, experiences, and voices helping participants see themselves in the materials.
Diverse perspectives are used in the design and development of SEL curricula and participants provide insight into their own cultural backgrounds and experiences.
We recognize how important flexibility in program implementation can be and accomodate the unique needs of the variety of organizations and communities we serve. This approach supports equity by allowing for customization.
